Sidepipe removal
OK, I need to take the pipes off so I can have the body painted. Somehow, that nice slip fit that I had a few months ago is now more like a press fit. Has a few hours of running, etc. and probably some deposits, etc. Any tips on how to gently get the sidepipe released from the header collector? I tried a little heat, but didn't do much.
Probably if I had a couple of 800 lb. gorillas, it would help! Thanks, Chuck |
DUH, Nevermind!
I got them off. Helps when you get your head out of your tail and think a bit. Simply got a piece of wood and a hammer and tapped them off by banging against the hanger bracket on the side of the pipe. Some heavy banging, but came off fine.
I'll save some real questions for later. Chuck |
If you haven't done it already, loosen the primary pipes.

Yeah well with my luck I'd bang on the hanger bracket and break it off and STILL not have the dam pipes loose! LOL
