No Front Brakes.. Why ??

Wilwoods all around. Girling .75 Masters with a brake balance bar. No matter where I adjust the balance bar the rears lock up before the fronts. Anybody else have this problem with this set up ? And how did we remedy it. I'm thinking of a proportioner on the line to the rear to cut back the pressure...

Yep, that shoud do it. A P valve on the rear line is the best and cheapest way to cure your problem.

I do not like proportioners. By using a proportoiner for more than fine tuning you are giving up braking performance. You need to get in the ball park first. You can reduce the bore size of the front master cylinder or increase the bore size of rear master cylinder.

I agree with Tom. Start at the root of the problem and cure the disease instead of the symptom. Go with a smaller bore on the rear master.

Bleed your fronts again. If you have any air with a two cylinder brake setup your rear will lock up before you get the "air travel" out of your front set.

Going with a smaller bore on the rear master. Will increase the pressure and make your problem worse. A 5/8 front and a 3/4 rear will work if you have bled the system properly.

Denny,

How are you "adjusting" your balance bar? Because the front typically requires much more volume than the rear, the balance bar is best set up at an angle. Without this bias, you could be bottoming out the pivot in the housing.
