Switching from 428FE to 427 SO
I have purchased a 427 Side Oiler short block and I have been told everything on my 428FE except possibly the flywheel should match up. Any concerns I should look into?

427 FE engines left the factory neutral balanced, meaning the flywheel has no external couterweight. All factory 428s have counterweight in the flywheel. 428 CJ/SCJ have weight in the flywheel and the harmonic balancer. You will need to use a neutral balanced flywheel. All the rest of your engine swap components are the same.

I would go with a medium riser top end if you can afford it, heads -manifold. KK |
