What steering rack did original Cobras use?
Flaming River has a steering rack called the Cobra / MGB rack ( http://www.flaming-river.com/cobra.htm ). An MGB friend forwarded me an email from an MGB discussion forum/list where they assume from this that original Cobras used MGB steering racks. This is the first I've ever heard of this. Anyone care to impart their head full o' history on here?

Yes the rack from early 63/64 MGB was the same rack used on the Cobra once rack & pinion replaced the earliest worm & sector type steering.

The original Cobra used a modified MGB rack. The pinion shaft was cut down and resplined for use in th Cobra.
