Rock Chips!

Those d**n rocks are trashing my new paint. Especially on back fenders. I have seen the aluminum covers you can put on back fenders, but has any one seen or know where a guy could get some covers that are made of cloth (leather, vinyl) or something like that, that could be easily attached and removed. If any one knows of anything like this I would love to know about them or where i could get such a thing. Im afraid I may need to start saving for new paint.
Thanks Bly.

Bly,
Check with your local people that apply tape stripes. 3M makes a clear sheet that can be applied to the rear fenders. It is not visible unless your about a foot away. Going to have this installed on mine as soon as the weather gets better. They tell me the cost is $50.00 dollars to have both sides done should you want to go that way.

Good luck,
Jim

As with all Cobras, mine also suffered with rock chips to the rear fenders. So to put a stop to this nonsense, I contacted Invinca Shield in Wilkesboro, NC. After toting my car over to Wilkesboro, I now have protected fenders. Mark Elliott did a great job installing the 3m Clear Sheet. If you didn't know it was there, you couldn't find it. So what if you can. Sure looks better that those nasty paint chips.

Check out the attached photo and try to see the edges of the clear sheet. It follows the door opening from the upper corner down to the bottom of the rocker panel, wraps into the wheel opening and goes up the fender and back to the upper corner of the door.

I'm ready for DVSF III, sticky tires and all.

When time permits, I'll have the front end done, too.
