Cobra on Vette Chasis

I would like to add a Cobra body to my 1984 Corvette. Does anyone know if it can be done without to many problems?
The wheelbase is 96.2" and the width is 71". Front/rear track is 59.6/60.4.
Thanks,

There were a couple of kits that were made from Corvette's not sure if the manufacturers are still in business though.

George,
Jeff known as Vettestr on this forum sells this kit. He owns
a good example of one with a BBC with mucho HP.
He posts on our club forum at Arizona cobras. Just go to
the local clubs at the top of this page and go to Arizona cobras.
Send him an e mail and I'm sure he will respond.

Thanks to all!

I thought I saw something in one of the last couple of issues of Kit Car magazine about a kit designed for a vette. Sorry, but I don't remember which issue it was.

George
I think I posted this info on FFCobra. Randy Hunter builds a cobra that uses a chassis you can bolt your 1984 corvette parts to his chassis.

He has two websites but one is not working right now. Try this one
http://www.missionlabs.com/hunters/

If you have a pretty good Vette I would sell it and build a new cobra anyway

Corvette Cobras

My Corvette that looks like a Cobra is setting on a 1982 Covette frame. It was manufactured by Elegant Motors which became Indy exotics, both of which are no longer in production, hence the Chevy Big Block as noted in my profile. If I was doing it all over again I would be talking with Reg Dodd of BackDraftRacing and looking to purchase a TKO, even if they do come with Ford Motors.

Thanks to both of you for your further help. Just to let you know that at this time I have a completely refinished my Corvette's chassis and I have a 351 Windsor installed. Also the brakes, steering and suspension have all been re worked (repaired or replaced as needed.) I have time right now to wait and see what will be offered as far as a body to put on to this frame. I'm still about a year away form this project due to the GMC Sprint I'm working on. Thanks for the information I have been looking a long time for this type of info. I should have come here first.
Thanks again,

A corvette with a 351 windsor? You are my hero :D

Thanks,
The way I see it, from a frugal ("cheap") point of view, GMC with their deep pockets already engineered the streetability and drivabilty of the car.
When I need parts all I have to do is to go to AutoZone etc.... to get them. Now all I need is a 427 Cobra body that will fit and I'll have a nice daily driver. I just have to wait and see what shows up in the marketplace. Too much do do right now anyway. I checked out the infomation that was provided in this thread and so far it is very promising.
