External Clutch Slave questions
Hi everyone,
My internal hydraulic throw out bearing let go so I have decided to replace it with an external slave. If anyone can supply me with part numbers that I will need to make the switch I would be grateful. I have an 351 crate motor with a Lakewood bell housing and a tremec 3550. I don’t know who makes an external slave that will fit. Also I need to know what fork and throw out bearing to get. Thanks guys |
I just finished building a 351 stoker with a lakewood and had several problems.
The std fork comes out of the lakewood with a downward angle that contacted the frame, causing me to go with a shorter fork. The short fork changes the moment arm from about 7in to 5 in which really increased the pedal presuure. Using a std 1 in slave and going down to a 3/4in MC still results in unsatisfactory high pedal pressure. I also would like a solution to the heavy pedal; I can only leg press 200 lbs!! gn:JEKYLHYDE |
Grover, can you move the clutch pedal pivot point up some to achieve better leverage?I was able to move mine up a bit and it helps. chuck
