High-temp engine paint

Is it easy to purchase engine paint pigmented with a PPG color? is this an option that engine shops typically offer? And when you paint things like timing covers and water pumps etc., does the paint stay on the parts over time? I've seen pics of some beautiful engine paint jobs and I wonder what the finish looks like a few years later. Any comments?

You can use regular body paint on the block and such, just have to prime the surface first. It will not turn black, except around the exhaust ports, but you will probubly have alum heads that you won't paint anyway. It will be fine until gas and such deteriorate it, so don't leak all over it. Don't paint the aluminum timing cover and water pump, polish them or leave natural aluminum. Ideally, only the block and scattershield will get painted, the rest of a windsor is aluminum.
