Ignition breakdown?

Anybody have experience with MSD parts breaking down?
I have an Ernie Elliott Winston Cup engine (358ci).
I have gone thru 3 magnetic pick ups in the distributor and two sets of msd plug wires. All this in 3yrs and 2500 miles.

I run the MSD6al system
with MSD coil
with MSD plug wires

Any Ideas?

Hi,
You didn't say what dist your running, the small diameter cap distributors have a definite arcing problem, if you have one, I'd go to the large cap.

The distributor was made by EEI it looks to be a ford part not msd.
It does have the larger cap.
Note: The engine has an 8500 redline and I shift it at 8000 to 8100 when I'm on it hard.
