Interesting STUFF in my oil pan...
Okay guys,
In the middle of an engine swap (more power.. or maybe the spun bearing in the current motor;) one or the other) I pulled the pan off the new motor which was rebuilt about 13,000 miles ago. Just decided that since it was out that I could not put it in without new gaskets. Well what do I find but what looks like a bunch of chewed up pieces that appear to be a BLACK plastic. Any body got any ideas as to where they came from? The fact that they are plastic bogels me. Thanks, Dan p.s. I probably shouldn't tell you this but the motor is a small block that begins with CH... please be kind. |
maybe gear material from a cheap set of timing chain sprockets. Some old sprockets used a nylon gear.

Charred gerbil pieces.
You did say it was a "small block" didn't you? Hope nothing serious. |
Dan,
Download a pic so we could make a determination. Other than that, maybe someone could analyze it for you to determine what it is. - Bill - |
As said before, cheap timing gears; or, to much silicone sealer.
