Changing out the rear axles for a 5 lug conversion...when I went to take the small bolt out for the pinion gear noticed in was partially stripped...tried it anyways and lesson learned..stripped it even more...How am I going to get this bolt out????

drill
Drill the center of the bolt and put either an "easy out" or a rod into the hole.
If you can not back the bolt out with the easy out, put the rod in the hole and tack weld it in place. Use a puller and remove the bolt. I believe the head is gone? Hope this helps. :3DSMILE: |

clk2 Drill and retap the hole. Get a cobalt drill bits, start with 1/8 for a pilot hole in the center of the bolt and drill out the center. Get oil and keep the drilling spot wet as not to burn the drill bit. Go larger and larger until you see threads in the hole. Get the correct tap and retap the hole, but WD-40 in the hole tap till it bottoms out. Messure another hole for depth and put a piece of tape around the drill bit and tap to prevent breaking them. If after repair threads with not hold fastener go to the next size up witch would be metric and re tap hole with closest pitch to orginial. Put antiseize on all bolts and run a tap through all the holes before you put it back together. Clean out the holes First. You knew that.;) Have a good day. Rick Lake
