brake noise
I have installed rear discs (92 mustang) on roadster. Since
then, pedal stays soft, and noise at low speeds, almost seems to be from right front wheel. Have replaced hoses, pads, and dont know what else to do. on lift, can turn rear wheels and groaning sounds comes from brakes??? Has anyone had this happen, and have any suggestions for what to try next? Thanks bob |
What condition were the "new" '92 calipers in that you put on the car? Did you disassemble and clean them before installing them? It's possible that you have a couple of things going on. If by soft you mean "spongy" that could be air in the lines. The noise could be caused by a piston in the caliper sticking.
good luck, Mike "monster" |
Sticking is very noticable if the car pulls to one side or the other when the brakes are applied.
Sounds like air in the lines. The bleeder on the caliper may actually be in a position where not all the air is bled ( seen this before ). What does this noise sound like? |
the pads may not have been cleaned well, they were in plastic,
so I just "assumed" they were clean. I have bled way too many times, but who knows? the car does not pull either side, and the noise is a low groan, not metallic, but moan and groan??? Thanks both of you! Bob |
