does anyone have experience at an SCDA event in the northeast?
their web-site is very impressive and they seem to attract a variety of participants and cars at their events.

would most cobras be able to meet the decibel and roll bar requirements?

thanks, roscoe...it wasn't my intention to keep anyone in the dark about the SCDA.

their web-site is excellent and has a lot of info as well as pictures of the 2003 events...at least one cobra appears in the pictures of one of the NHIS events this fall...was hoping to hear from a participant to get some idea of how the event came off.

would encourage anyone from the northeast to go to their site and check it out...maybe we can get a few cobra owners to get together for an event next year...they will be running at both NHIS and LRP.

I emailed them regarding single roll bars and decible levels. Let's see what they say.

Don't know a lot about SCDA, but they were more expensive than several other clubs at the same venues. Maybe they run less cars and give you more on-track time. As far as NHIS (or Lime Rock as well), you will need to address the sound regulations. Small blocks get by with a lot less fuss than FE's. My FE passes both tracks with the same mufflers, although NHIS says 99db and LRP says 89 (or 87). Just where and how they measure. You should also look into COM. COMSCC.ORG I think. They have a VERY comprehensive training program, and run timetrials on the second day.

As far as the single hoop bar...most groups frown on instructional student cars without equal safety equipment for the instructor. Some will do lead/follow, some not. Experienced, signed-off drivers generally have no problem, as long as the bar is "real". Your SPF should be fine if your head doesn't stick up above it. Olthoff makes/installs a fullwidth setup.

SCDA schedule as printed in their web page indicates four 30 minute sessions per day for most classes.
