351W and GT-40 heads

Anyone can tell me about the cast iron GT-40 heads on a 1983 stock block? I know about the 1/2" vs 5/8" head bolts. What kind of cam and pushrod ratios?? Boulevard cruising and long weekend trips is the planned usage. Anyone can help, much appreciated

Steve,

It sounds like you are looking for the same sort of engine I was.

My car isn't on the road yet, but the engine ('76 351W) is complete and has been dynoed. It uses the GT40P iron head, Comp Cams XE274H flat tappet cam, stock rocker arms, and a Performer manifold with a 600 CFM Edelbrock carb. The idle sounds very good and it makes decent power. Peak HP is 351 at 5100-5200 RPM and torque is 390+ from 2500 to 4400 RPM with a peak of 402.

Don Scott, who built the engine, did mention that he does not use the stock valve springs.
