FIA Sidepipes/Exhaust
What is the correct location for the pipes on an FIA. Are they under the car but exiting in front of the rear wheels? or...Are the slightly under the side of the car and still exit in front of the rear wheels? or...?

Bob - at normal ride height, how much clearance is there between the sidepipe and the ground?
I love the colour on that car !!! It suits the FIA car perfectly... |
Ground clearance is only about 3.5"-4". I wouldn't be surprised if the original cars had a bit more, but they may have sat higher than our cars.

Good thing he has a helmet on...if he crashes and rolls, his head/helmet will protect the rollbar from damage. So far it looks loke the exhaust just runs along the under side border of the car to exit in front of the rear wheels.

Like these??????????? The outside edge of the pipes are even with a vertical line down the door. Rick |
Rick,
I just bought a NAF 289. Plan on slowly rebuilding it similar to your car. Would really like to talk to you if you are willing. You have built a gem and I see mine as one in the rough. Please drop me an e-mail thanks Gary |
