SFP Diff change.. Special tools?
Anyone know if there are any special tools required to swap out the Center Section and change the CV Joints on an SPF?
Any suggestions on other issues to watch for while doing it?
Thanks.

What do you mean, swap out the center section? Changing the gears, or changing the differential?

Swapping out the whole center section for a new one.

I don't think you would need anything special....the center section is bolted to the frame...I think you just unbolt the spindles so they'll swivel....then the half-shafts just pull out....kinda like a FWD car....

Cool. Sounds easy enough. Thanks.

Are you changing the gears? I've been thinking about doing that myself. I have a TKO w/ 3.73 and 1st gear is pretty much useless when you're jumping on it. I don't think Tremek makes a different 1st gear ratio, so I was considering going to a 3.54 or maybe even lower.

No gear change. I was just looking into it as I am going to do the work for a friend in a couple of weeks.
It looks like a pretty straight forward job. Drop the wheels, shocks, sway bar and fuel pump and looks like is should drop right out.

Talked to the Olthoff's shop this morning and got it all figured out.
Looks to be as straight forward as I anticipated.
