Intake gasket - to cork or not?

I'm doing a fresh intake install tomorrow (Victor Jr. w/ Vic Jr heads) and wondered about using the cork end pieces that come with the Fel Pro 1262 gasket set. The last time I did this (2 years back) I used them in combination with plenty of Permatex Blue. Should I skip them this time and just use Permatex?
Thanks

Use them

DO NOT USE THEM

just use silicone or "the right stuff" silicone. Cork can hold the intake too high and cause intake leaks, they can squeeze out, they can split while torquing down the manifold.

Do not use the cork.

There is not 1 good reason to use it , however, there are 10 why not.

The first thing I do when opening a new gasket set is throw the intake gaskets away after tearing them in two,do not want anyone to have any trouble with them.....

Have always used the blue RVT or RTV whichever it is called, clean the block ridge with some paint thinner on a rag and do the same with the bottom of the intake on both ends, let dry, them put a bead of RVT about the size of a pencil or a little larger along the block ridge, let dry a few minutes till "tacky",then carefully install intake, let dry completely and with a razor blade trim off bead flush with intake and engine, makes for a clean, good looking seal,to this date I have never had on leak or "blow out"....

Thanks gents. The first time I did this I used the cork end gaskets. Last night, I installed the intake without them. I just used plenty of RTV black in the front, back, and around the water holes. Let's hope this last longer than 2 years!
Thanks again.
