Holley Carb Advice
I just tried to start my snake after waiting for two months of snow to melt. Large volumes of gas started to pour out of the front carb bowl vent. I have an 850 double pump. I assume the front float is stuck. Do I need to remove the float bowl or can I try to free it through the sight hole. I tried to tap on the bowl gently with no inprovment.

Just take the bowl off (4 bolts) and clean it out well with carb spray. You might also want to put some Marvel Mystery Oil in the gas tank. This stuff will keep the carb parts lubricated.

I had this happen twice while taking the carb on and off to change main jets. The float bowl was stuck. Unscrew the bowl adjustment, and move the float a little, turn the pump on and check it again till it stops. Do a final adjustment to make sure the level is right and you should be good to go.

Many times the needle/seat is the culprit and you can just remove it from the top of the float bowl, replace or clean it and be down the road.
