427 S/C Front Parking Light Lens Color?

My ERA 427 S/C came to me with two sets of Lucas front parking light lens covers. One set is clear or white and the other set is amber or yellow/orange-ish. The white set was on the car when I took posession and the other set was in one of the many large crates of spare parts.

In doing some photographic research of 427 S/C cars, I have noticed many original S/C's depicted with white front lenses and also a few with the amber or orange lenses.

Which lense color is correct for the 427 S/C?

I had the impression that the early cars had white lenses, but below is a picture of an allegedly unrestored CSX 3035

1965 thru 1966 is when the laws changed requiring amber parking lights.

The S/Cs were sold from 1965 thru 1967.

Early cars had white lenses. Manufacturers changed to amber bulbs under white lenses until stock was depleted, and then began using amber lenses.

:D If you are replicating a Comp or early S/C, use white lens...
...a late S/C, use amber lens. :D
