J,
I don't know if it will fit or not but having previoulsy been into Porches I can tell you that will not be a cheap engine to put together if you only have a case. Also, what trans would you mate it up with?? If you head down that path I live just around the corner from you and would be very curious to see how it all goes together.
Good Luck, Steve

Is this engine going in the trunk?

PatBuckley 04-07-2004 08:04 AM

It's a straight bolt in. This is a swap that is so obvious that it surprises me that NO ONE has ever even thought of doing it before.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

I have all of the trannie, the engine (with everything attached), and the chassis, how would i be able to put it into the trunk? i knmow thats how it is on the real porsche, but i wouldnt know how to do it on a '65 cobra. could somebody help me?

Well if you put it up front instead of back you could have a front wheel drive Cobra. Oh wait,,,,, steering.

OK, so put all that steering stuff in the back instead and steer from the rear!

I hear the sound of yanking chains.

lust4fia 04-07-2004 10:23 AM

What about putting it in a Beck 550 Spyder?

Personally I'm tired of people building Frankenstein Cobras. Don't ask for respect when you blatently disrespect the spirit of this car.

Get a second set of the drivetrain

One at each end for a 4 wheel drive high speed cobra ! Can I be in your will?

I have a D6 Caterpillar motor with hydrostatic transmission...should I put the blade on the front of the car, or on the back?
