pulley bracket install on edelbrocks
motor is a ford 302:
i'm putting all the pulleys back together now and i'm on the big bracket that holds the alternator and tensioner...there's a big hole in the head that goes right through to the other side, in the head it's a 5/8" hole, but a 5/8" bolt will not fit through the hole in the bracket in order to thread into the head...i believe that hole is for some kind of emissions setup, which i don't need (kit car, no emissions) is it possible that maybe that hole was smaller on the stock head, and it's larger on the edelbrock...if so can I just drill out the bracket hole to 5/8" so it will fit?...i'm really confused here any help would be great! |
Go to local Ford dealer, they will have the part you need which resembles a 1/2" long set screw with internal threads it is installed with a large screw driver, they have thread locker applied to keep them tight. They are used as you said to attach the EGR tubes to the cylinder heads.
