Mustang II front suspension and spindles
:cool: I am looking for front mustang II spindles that will raise my Cobra. I have replaced factory springs and shocks with adjustable coilovers. This raised my car a bit, but did not give me ground clearance or wheel travel that I wanted. All it did was hurt the ride. I'm looking for a front spindle that will raise my car. I've seen a lot of spindles advertised to lower but not raise. Is there some way I can raise the front without hurting the ride?

Southern Rods and Parts has thm starting at $229 for the "STEEL" Mustang II spindles either stock axle height or the 2" dropped. There are lower priced ones but some are cast iron not steel. grumpy added: What frame are you using them on? Did the supplier of the frame also supply the unequal length arms that also allow for a particular shock length and angle? |

I don't think you'll find "raised" spindles. If tightening the collers on the coilovers won't raise your car, jack up the front and see what it looks like. If you still don't have enough gap between your tire and fender, you have shocks that are too short. The shocks are all you probably need to deal with. Also, for your lower A arm to be correct, it must be level to the ground. And if your ride seems hurt,(or stiffer) lighten up on the springs. Hope this helps, Tim |
