T-5 Shifter

I have an odd question again. I made a ball for the top of my shifter handle. I got a great piece of walnut at a craft store. It was supposed to be wooden fruit, and it is sort of egg shaped with a nice feel in the hand. I added a small round cobra emplem that I picked up at a flea market and finished it in a light mahagony color and it looks and feels great. But I was going to put a threaded insert in the bottom to attach it to my T-5 shifter handle. I can't figure out what that thread size is for love nor money. None of my dies fit it and none of my taps match up. I have a small craftsman set so it is probably outside the "normal" range. Do any of you know what that thread is on a regular old T-5 shifter handle. Thanks

I believe it is 1/2"-20, especially if you get one of the shifter handles from FinishLine.

Take your old shifter handle to Home Depot and go to their hardware aisle. They usually have a bunch of threaded bolts attached to a board that you can check a nut for sizing. Just put the handle up there until you find the match. :)

The thread on the T5 shifter should be an M12x1.75......it's a METRIC thread.
