Bernie,

That's a good looking linkage. I came up with 2 designs that provide geometrically perfect action for 4 ida's with external fuel feeds, yours is one of them. I'm going to try a single bellcrank with the inter-connect levers first however. If I'm not satisfied with that, I'll make a dual bellcrank system like yours.

Also, I designed and made a similar bellcrank plate for my system, have yet to get it polished but it turned out nice, 11 minutes from design to part, no drawings, isn't laser technology wonderful. Here's a pic...note the logo.;)

Bernie,

Looking closer at your linkage, you must have an top and bottom pull in the center. I thought the rear bellcrank operated the rear carbs. Can you post a pic of the lever connections between the carbs?

Thanks,

Chuck

Chuck,
Tested same base plate in the middle as yours look great but difficult setting carbs, back to rear carbs.

Bernie.

Above posts members asked about the benefit of Webers. An IR system gets close to Fuel Injection systems that have a butterfly on each port. If you consider the fact that a 4b carb and manifild spend a lot of time sucking exhaust gases out of one exhaust port and into another cylinder as it's filling up, an IR system with Webers eliminates that and can let you run more duration while maintaining a good idle. At the top end Webers are probalby not that much more HP than a good 4b setup, but in the low end and mid range the results can be much better than a 4b.

(At least that's what I've read :)

Regards
Jim
