Rattling Speaker

I didn't know where to place this, so moderators, put it in its place. Any way, I have a kenwood speaker that is "rattling" and I don't know what to do. It is barely noticeable when the volume is down, but when I increase it, the buzzing comes from the subwoofer, but the one in the other box sounds normal. It is VERY anoying, please help!

Replace it:rolleyes: Once a speaker starts that "noise" it is generally shot--sort of what you call being "over amped";)

I pushed a button on the reciever, I believe it was loudness, and It stopped all together. Of course, It did that AFTER the Muscle Car shootout and the Cobra show on the speed channel last night. I will replace it anyway, too much AC/DC?:D

Before you replace it few things need to be adressed before you hurt or waste your money on another sub.

1: Have you been having any problems with the amp? Like clipping or thermal shut down due to over heating. Can cause damage to internal electronics.

2: How are the subs wired? Are they bridged into one channel or are they wired right and left? If they are wired right and left try and swap your RCAs and see if the noise stays or moves with the RCA. If it moves have the amp looked at. If it stays the sub is going.

It is better to look a little closer at little things and save your self some time and a few bucks down the road.

LwCwb:
I just have to smile at your post....
Why?
With the typical Cobra engine exhaust noise... how the heck can you pick up a "rattle" in your speaker?
I just have to chuckle....
:D

:D I was actually watching the Superformance DVD, again, of course with the surround, and I couldn't hear the engine because of a rattling. If I did have a cobra right now, I probably couldn't hear anything!
