Break in question...

Is one oil or weight better than another for the break-in period?

I am puting the finishing touches on my 302. I will do a little tuning and getting some bugs out while on a runstand before placement in a Cobra.

Primarily street time
std 302 block
gt40-x heads and valve train
FRPP roller rockers
RPM intake
Mellings HV oil pump
Canton pan w/windage tray

I appreciate the .02

I would use whatever your going to run. If you don't have a roller cam make sure you keep the rpm at or above 2000 for the first 20min. of running or you cam will go flat. Mike

Do not use synthetic for breakin. Use mineral oil and then, if you chose, switch to synthetic.
