thanks to all - this is getting way too complicated for me.

Yankee,

Have you figured out the TPS mounting and linkage yet? I'm building a Midstates with a 351W and 4R70W/Baumann controller and am not very happy with what I have come up with so far.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

dkjos,
We are going to be running a VeryCoolParts EFI Stack system so our linkage is going to be complicated anyway. I plan to use a firewall mounted setup and would like to run the TPS off of that on a separate torque arm. Clearly this is a big hurdle for us and I haven't quite gotten that far. We just rec'd the manifold last week and will be putting the whole power train together in the next couple months.

I'd like to keep up with you since you are using the same setup. Would you mind sending your home e-mail and I can provide you pics directly?

Will keep in touch, good luck.

AOD Trannies

Hey leejleej,

I sent you a PM. I'm in Orange County, NY and if you'd like to discuss using an AOD give me a call. My number is in the PM I sent you.

Tony

Hey, Lee. All you have to do is give Marvin a call. He'll whip out his cutting torch and have you ready to go in no time flat. I agree with the previous posters that the AOD tranny is the way to go. You built your car as a cruiser, not a dragster so you probably want around 2400 RPM at 70 mph. The AOD will keep the noise level manageable as well as provide a smooth responsive ride. You may have to have a new tranny cross member fabricated and a new drive shaft made up. That C-6 seemed awfully long sitting under your car.

I run a 3.50 rear gear with a toploader and turn 2850 RPM at 70. My winter project is to swap out the carrier for a 3.00/1 carrier that should provide 70 mph at 2450 RPM.
