Tires

First I must apologize. I am NOT a Cobra of any type owner. I do hold them close to my heart as I do just about any Ford made. What I do have is a queery that seems to plague you guys all the time. That's one of a decent 15" street/track tire. As you well know there isn't a decent speed-rated tire over a 235/60/15. I don't know about you guys but I shudder at the thought of putting a Goodrich T/A or a comparable Dunlop or Yokahama (IMHO, HEADS above the other 2...) through speeds of 130+. Since 15" Minlites are my wheel of choice for going under my Boss powered '70 Cougar, I've been searching high and low with no results. But then I stumbled across something that started me thinkin'.....
Pirelli makes a 255/ 60/15 V-rated SUV tire with an emphasis towards street performance. I even read some very favorable reviews on the Tirerack sight regarding it's use on a Taurus SHO and an early '70's Corvette that saw some track time. My thought was to utilize Tirerack's offer for shaving and go down to about 6/32's of tread. Any thoughts?

P.S. I missed the chance of talking to a replica owner with these very same tires on the back of his car while running 235/60/15 Pirelli P600's at the front. I was wandering around my buddy's shop when the owner came in started up and left.
Oh well...maybe next time.

OK, OK....

What I meant was there isn't THE tire size over 235/60/15 that "I" was looking for. Toyo does have tires of the type that Pirelli does and is more to the sizes that your cars can accomodate. For my use though, going beyond the height of the 255 sidewall is pushing it. Still if anyone has a take on the "puny" 255/60/15 tires that I mentioned, I would greatly appreciate your input.
