suspension and shocks

I am begin the winter project mode. This is the year for suspension. I want to take a minute and share with you what I currently have so you will all know where I am coming from. My front end is the standard mustang II set up with non-adjustable tubular arms on the top and bottom, stock spindles and carerra coil over shocks all around. I am using a custom 1 inch swaybar. In addition to the carreras on the back I have a tubular 4-link system with urethane bushings on a narrowed 8.8. In the near future is a shock change. I would like to begin the upgrade with a discussion on shocks. I want to spend under $200 a piece. By the way, this car is raced and that is my focus for now.

What are the ideal shocks for these cars?

re: shocks

That site has a lot of stuff! I still don't have a clear idea about what makes a shock better than another. Maybe my carreras are good enough. I just want to be sure.
