Ca Registeration Yep another question
I was wondering if you can register your ca in Sacramento even if you don't live in that county??? I live in Ca & close enough to Sac to make the ride just to avoid confusion of the sb100 & local DMV's. Thanks All

You can walk in to any office and start the process.
If you plan to use SB100 you are a couple of months early. If not, you might want to make an appointment so you don't have a 2 hour wait!!

DMV Hqts in Sac
The DMV Hqts in Sacramento does not have a public office. The only thing you'ed accomplish by driving to Sac would be that the phone call that they have to make would be a 'local call' not long distance.
If you do want to drive here the closest office to DMV Hqts is a few blocks up Broadway Ave. I will see you there in Jan as it's only a few blocks from my house. I live off of 59th & Broadway, DMV Hqts is at 29th & Broadway & the public DMV office is at about 47th & Broadway.

Well, I guess I'll save some gas & go local. Is Jan 2nd the first day the DMV is open for the new year? I noticed you can't make an appointment more than 4 weeks in advance on line. Is there another way to make it more in advance? Thanks for the replys.

Jan 3 is the first working day of 2005. But I'd check your local office times first. Some offices are closed on some weekdays so they can be open on a Saturday. Make sure you have all your paperwork. You can download the forms from the DMV web site. You'll most likely encounter a clerk who has never done this type of registration before. Just be patient and kind. Don't hesitate to get the office manager involved. Make sure you get your SB100 number before you leave. Good luck with the registration! The process shouldn't be too painful if you follow all the required steps.
