Dust booties

I bought some dust boots for my lower control arms on my FFR. For the ball joints.. and they are hard. The ones on there now are soft rubber ones with a hole in them. These new ones are hard, do not flex, and do not have a hole in the top. Am I missing something here? Or did I get the wrong parts?

Thanks!

You probably bought Poly Urethane boots - They are hard, but don't rip when hit with debris. They are not made to seal up tight - they will pass grease through the bottom of the boot when you grease the ball joint.
