Schubeck composite lifter?
What do you think about these composite flat lifters are these reliable and anybody using in race/strip set up?

Bernie How fast do you want to go. I thought that the motor that George A built you was enought.:confused: Whats the price on those lifters $5-600.00 dollars. He has new roller lifter for 1k that don't need bars or h plates to keep the lifter in line with the cam. Hope you and the family are well. Have a great holiday. Rick Lake

These are Race ONLY pieces guys... When we build a racing engine to produce the maimum amount of power, it's designed lifecycle is anywhere from 500-700 miles.
If you run parts like these on the street, you will not be a happy camper for very long.. |
I have started assembly on the 7th engine I have used Schubeck flat lifters in and all I can say is that I am very happy with them.
The first engine has over 7000 miles now and hasen't even needed a valve adjustment. They work great on the street where low speed and idling reduce oil flow over the splash feed lifters like those used in all early 427 side oilers and all center oilers. To take full advantage of the lifter design a custom cam with quick opening and closing ramps should be used. I have had cams made that approach solid roller cam specs and have run as much as 180 lbs valve spring seat pressure with no wear or durability problems. I think they are great and in the long run well worth the investment. --Mike |
I have three friends who use them on the street and so far they all report total satisfaction - with many, many, street miles.

Thank you for your replies,cost is not object (720$),but the most important thing with these lifters it's not neccessary to break in cam with soft spring especially useful when you tested different cams on a dyno
