Jag IRS E Brake

Having trouble getting my Jag Emergency brake to return to its
unengaged position. The brake engages fine, but when I release it, the drivers side arm does not return to its position.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to correct? Thinking of adding a return spring, but there is no easy location to mount it.

The U shaped piece (#1257 in the picture) acts as the return spring. They bend in (and spring back slightly) as the pads wear. They must start out with some outward tension.

Bob,

Understood. I couldn't find any diagrams to save my life!

I have had my inboard rear brakes modified to accept vented rotors and had to modify part #1257 in order to have it continue to function. I will double check if its secured correctly tomorrow.

I also noticed some binding in the cable too due to the angle and am correcting that as well.

thanks!

JM
