Not sure of the sizes, with the exception of the flywheel bolts, I just pulled grade 5 stuff out of my bolt "bin" and ground length to fit.
Would think Summit Racing or CJ Pony parts could supply the correct stuff http://www.cjponyparts.com/ContactUs.asp - Dan |
The flywheel bolts are special high strength bolts that you should only get from FORD or ARP. ARP also sells bolt kits for these engines that include intake, distributor, waterpump, timing cover, valve covers, oil pan...etc. Also there are different waterpumps that require different length bolts. I used an Edelbrock water pump and some of the bolts were too short. If this had come out 3 weeks ago I could have helped you on the oil pump - I just changed mine.
Get a Summit/Jegs catalog and look at the ARP bolt kits. |
Here you go:
These are based on my recollection of my 289 assembly. I used & recommend ARP for EVERYTHING. DO NOT not use any generic bolts for ANY critical application. 1. Crank Pulley :3/8"NC x approx 1.25" 2. Water Pump Pulley: 5/16 NF x 1" (Too long they & they will foul the pump body) 3. Fuel Pump: 3/8"NC X approx 1.5"-1.75" 4. Motor Mounts: 7/16" NF x 1" 5. Flywheel: 7/16" NF x 1" or 1.25" (depending on flywheel or flexplate thickness). 6. Oil Pump: 3/8" NC X 1.25. ( recommend studs here, must be longer to allow for nut and washer. Use 262 locktite sparingly. Hope this helps Rick |
Thanks for the help Rick.....
I am assuming that ..... NC = course thread NF = fine thread Am I right? |
Yes.
