A couple of questions??

Before you go and yell at me about these being covered before I did try a search and got too many responses, both related and unrelated;

How do I decide what type and thickness of head gaskets I need??

What is the best distributor for the 302 engine??

Should I run 1 or 2 electric fuel pumps for a fuel injection application?? (1 as it comes out of the tank and 1 as it goes into the engine)

What type of ignition control unit is recommended??

OK,I ran a turbo'd '87 stang.

Hi,
You NEED to 'O' ring the heads for blown 302 engines, use head studs instead of head bolts also.Fel pro makes an O ring head gasket that fits the tfs grooved heads.
The factory Ford tfi dist is best with the factory EFI, if you go with another system a duraspark dist will trigger it fine.
Msd makes a 6 BTM ignition box that retards timing as boost increases. Also you need a Vortec or Paxton FMU fuel regulator that increases fuel pressure as boost rises.
You only need 1 EFI fuel pump, has to be big enough to support your boost level, say 255 L/hr for up to 15 PSI.
I ran 8 psi boost and knocked 2 seconds off my 1/4 mile time, but the car overpowered the traction and would go sideways at 100 mph. Spend $$ on good suspension , a rollcage and tires.
Good Luck,
Perry.:cool:

Your head gasket thickness will affect your compression ratio. Have you had the engine built yet? I used ROL graphite head gaskets. I heard they were great for street engines. If I remember correctly, they have a 4.100" hole and they're .041" thick. You can get thicker ones or thinner ones depending on if you need to fudge your CR a little.

Distributor? MSD.

I would think one fuel pump would be plenty if you pick the right one. Get the one with the pressure and volume you need. Shouldn't need anything more.
