460 bellhousing
ready to mate 460 Ford engine to top loader. Any recourse than using a Lakewood. (Do not have the energy to "dial in" a bellhousing like they recommend.
Any other brands to consider or where can I easily get a stock bellhousing. Dan |

Talk yourself into the scattershield. I did after shopping at Jim Green performance in Lynnwood Wasington where I met Jim Green himself. Walks with a very pronounced gait. Seems a clutch exploded and he felt lucky to have feet, let alone walk. He talked me into a scattershield instantly. Not too much effort dialing it in other than not having the correct dowel pins and had to wait three days from Summit.

The Lakewood is is a fine choice,(it's what I have) but, it cannot be bolted on to your engine without being dialed in. You probably won't even be close and you may even not notice it until your transmission fails. You'll have to bring your engine and bellhousing to an engine shop and let them do it right. Don't bring it to a transmission shop, thery won't know what to do. All bellhousings,( except stock) will need to be alligned.
