Tried a search....still need answer
Not to sound dumb or anything but I have a question about the adjustable brake attachments such as a wildwood? It says to hook it in between the master cylinder and the brakes to be able to adjust bias?? from front to rear. So, I assume it hooks up to just the front brakes but I was wondering, does it go before the proportioning valve or after it?????? And am I right on the front brakes?? Think of it as a pressure regulator that limits the pressure supplied to the brake. Because of this, it usually goes in the line to the rear brakes so that you may reduce rear bias (rear brakes lock too soon). I suppose if you needed more rear bias it could go in the front brake line (if your brakes a fed by a single line), but I have never seen that done. Rob |
Yeah, I just re-read my post...shouldn't be typin while tired....I meant to say rear, but since I had typed front to rear earlier in the sentence I picked up on front.....duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
I was still wondering though, does it go before or after the proportioning valve???? |
I think it replaces the proportioning valve.

On the two here that have a dash adjustment for the brake bias, they don't run a proportioning valve. The proportioning valve is to set the bias at a set level and leave it there. Only problem I know of is that they had to get used to which way to turn the adjusting knob. To much rear brake makes for an interesting ride into a sharp corner. Ron :) |

I took my proportioning valve out and replaced it with the Wilwood bias adjustment. I spliced between my master cylinder and my rear brakes. I located the adjustment inside my cockpit just under my dash so the knob sticks out past the bottom of my dash. I can reach it with my right hand while driving for adustments. I used 3/16" hard line and a AN 3 firewall male fittings. Mine works really well and allows me to adjust it on the fly if necessary. Clois |
What is this "bias adjuster"? Sounds like the same thing as a proportioning valve. I looked on Wilwoods site and could not find such an animal. Very interested, please advise.

Bias adjuster and proportioning valve seem to be the same thing to me.
I installed mine behind the drivers seat to the right next to the tunnel. In order to reduce or increase the brake pressure to the rear brakes I just turn the knob at the right behind the seat and adjust the pressure.
