Everett Morrison?
How close to the originals is the Everett Morrison set up. I'm not too familiar with the EM- I don't even know if it was a tubbed or non-stressed body.
Somebody on e-bay is selling copies of an early build manual with drawings, installation instructions, etc... and I need to figure out the aluminum layout for the cockpit, firewall and motor area, etc... I was hoping this manual might be able to help me out. Any body happen to know how these cars were done? Thanks, Bob |

The EM car wasn't (isn't?) known for it's originality, but rather the quality of the fiberglass bodies, a heavy duty frame, and the variety of suspension options. Like most of the earlier kit car manufacturers, the molds for the EM body were splashed off of an original car, so visually it is relatively correct. Probably the bigest visual clue that is wrong is the ride height - EM's typically have a lot of 'air' between the top of the back tire and the fender lip. I had the rear end in my car narrowed and the body lowered in an attempt to overcome this (see photo gallery). All the drawings and assembly instructions in the manual are for use in a EM build only. Other than maybe giving some basic ideas as to assembly, I don't think it would help you out in your build. - Dan |
Thanks Dan. That helps a lot. Basically, I was just looking for some patterns for the aluminum pieces and hoped this manual might have them in it but suspected it wouldn't.

Dan is correct regarding the EM manual. It doesn't help much even when you are building an EM. He is also correct that the older EM's are very close to origionals in shape. There is virtualy no aluminum on an EM. The entire body, fenderwells, trunk box, cockpit, tunnel and footboxes are all one piece. They are molded in several pieces and bonded together. I think they would sell the pieces seperatly so it's possible you could find an EM that someone did there own fab work on, but the manual only covers puting the fiberglass together.
The EM is a very good, high quality Cobra and I love mine. I have over 36,000 mile on it and it is rock solid. The manual was a BIG disapointment though. Not all of them ride high in the back. Mine sits very nicely, if anything low. Since they have re-opened I think they are only selling a streched version but I'm not sure. Just a question: WHY would someone have 9 Cobra manuals from the same company?????? Harvey R |

I have a complete ass manual that came with my E-M, and just looked through it and saw no patterns for alum or anything else. Other than the dashboard I have no alum parts, it is all fiberglass. If I can help you with anything from the manual, let me know. I can send you pages, or whatever. Thom |
I have an older EM and I have used that space above the rear tire several times on the North west roads. Most roads aren't flat and some times i get some air.I was just at EM and they have a new Generation .Based on Ford Mustang Cobra IRS. Trunk is flat and has a 22 gal tank tucked up under.Lots of small inovations through out.I wished they would blow their own horn.

You're right that EM has a very nice product. I have a 97 EM that I believe is there 1st production Lincoln IRS. It is a work of art. I'm sure there next Gen car is well done. They do almost no marketing, I am amazed they stay in business. Harvey R. |
I too think the quality of their car is first rate. I don't know thier history but mine is 92 vintage and rock solid. It has some of the thickest glass I've seen on any replica and a stout frame. Their marketing is non-existent but they respond to every e-mail I've sent and seem to have any part I need, even though I've gotten by without getting anything from them yet.
I'm not sure if they got caught up in the Shelby vs replica wars or had a falling out among their owners. Something happened. |
E-M
I've got an E-M that I'm just about to paint and it's done (Finally). I didn't think the manual was worth a whole heck of a lot to be honest. A much better job could have been done. IMHO.

Their new Generation has a lot of neat stuff .The one on the floor had large brakes,and looked to be a lot of SS sharp.Sorry just saw a new Ferrari ,what big front brakes.
