stroker templates
Has anyone used a product from a company called MJRPerformance, that uses pieces to clearance your block for a stroker assy? The website is MJRPerformanceAuto.com. I was quoted a price for a 351w kit for $170, although it lists chevy kits for ablut $110,figures!:JEKYLHYDE

You mean a template for cutting the block to make a stroker crank fit? For $170? That's ridiculous.....If you have your crank, rods, and a die grinder, you can do it in about 30 minutes for free. I probably have one of the longer stroke cranks for a 351W. It didn't take much effort at all to clearance my block.
On the longer stroke cranks, I think you also have to pay attention to what cam you get.....I think a smaller base circle is needed for some strokes... |
I have one I got with the motor I bought to stroke. Since it is a 393 it didn't need much clearancing so I never even used it. I took it out of the box to look at it and read the instructions, though.
It's a metal guide you set over the mains and mark the places needed to be removed on the web and block. I'll sell it for $50 if you're interested. E-mail me- Bob |
