spark plug type
I have a 71 boss 351, with 72 HO heads.
when i pulled the spark plug off it was an autolite AF-42 when i looked up the block and the heads in the haynes book it says supposed to use ARF-42. I go to the auto zone and they cross reference them and i get the Autolite APP-25 double plat. He tells me thats the type i need for that block and heads..... the AF-42 is shorter than the APP-25.... my question is did i have the wrong plug from the start?...is it ok to use the APP 25?.......only mods that i know of is TRW flattop pistons. ..... |
ok i think i found my own answer....car fired up nicely with the new plugs, the PO did just put in clevland plugs vs putting in Boss rated plugs...so I think im all set for now....lol
