Bell housing strength?

While I put my motor in last week, took notice of the bell housing. I have heard horror stories of the flywheel chopping peoples legs off when they fly apart, and I sure could see that happening...(not disputing). I have a ford factory bell housing, but in the casting...it has NHRA approved...(or similar) cast into the housing itself. Is that a good/strong housing? I would think it would be. This a street machine, not a racer. Any comments would be appreciated.

No factory BH will contain a clutch explosion.Having said that, scattershields are a pain-in-the-ass. Lakewoods suck.Mcleod is a better unit. Both hang too low and you'll have ground clearance issues.

My McLeod Street-twin aluminum fly wheel & clutch set-up are rated to 14,000 rpm.I feel safe with a factory bellhousing as the motor can not rev past 6500.:JEKYLHYDE

Ford sells a McLeod under their motorspors division. You may have one of those. I also think back in the old days there were some heavy duty NHRA apporved bellhousings but I do not know if they meet current standards.
