Fuel Injection Question

I am having a clearance problem with one of my fuel rails hitting the distributor. There does not seem to be a way to get a fitting in the end of the fuel rail for the return line.

I am feeding the fuel rails from the rear fittings which are easily accessible.

My question is this;

If I plug the fuel rail and just take the return line from the other fuel rail is this going to cause an "imbalance" in the system?

As far as the fuel pressure goes, if both rails are connected, it shouldn't make a significant difference where your return line bleeds off. You will lose a bit of the lower temperature associated with recirculating fuel though, which may present a problem with a hot-soak condition.

Okay, my local speed shop guru is telling me I need a feed and return line to each fuel rail or a feed to one, acrossover to the other and a return from that one, for the system to work properly. I ma soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo confused, can someone show me the way out???????????????????

I know, I know, somebody is going to ask, "which way did you come in"?

That was meant to be a comical note on the citeation!!!!!

Thanks Hankcar and Chrispy.....the problem is not the height but the girth.....as all men have, ha-ha.......hankcar, the one you suggested does not have the computer module hook up for the 5.0, I checked....and Chrispy, the one you suggested is the one I have......I thought I had it figured out using the option B;

but another member tells me this is not a good idea................

Earl,

I think option C would be ideal. As mentioned above you will have fuel recirculating, thus a cooler fuel.

The other methad I have seen used is to loop a piece of braided hose around the dist. Straight shot out of each rail.

BTW wich injection do you have? I assume the fuel rails are on the inside?????

Chris
