Valve cover/oil filler cap
I'm not sure how many others have used Ford Motorsports Cobra valve covers, but I have one little peeve about the V.C.s I bought for my 302. I think that they look great and they are just a hair taller than the originals so I could fit roller rockers. My only complaint is the oil filler cap. It screws in and has this funky International Ford logo (with different Europeon flags etc.) I would like to make it look like the original breather / oil filler cap. The chrome push-on (I think) caps you see on 289's and older mustangs or cobras. Has anyone found a screw- in replacement or has anyone modified their cap? I thought I might measure some of the chrome caps and see if I could gut one and fasten it over the new style cap, hopefully without any signs of having done it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Don

Here's a thought. Do a search for VIRGINIA MUSTANG. They sell a nifty "filler tube" (part #EG-381) that twists into the oil cap port on the aluminum valve cover and allows use of the push-in type breather cap. This tube uses a Ford Motorsports push-on breather also from Virginia Classic Mustang (part #EG-418, I think) similar to the smallblock oil filler setup. I used this setup on my cast aluminum FE valve covers and it worked great.
