side pipe mounting

Sould side pipes be mounted with some sort of rubber between the mount and the frame or are they mouned directly to the frame? It seem like the vibration may crack someting if it is not dampened with something. Thanks

Backdraft uses a rubber insulator between the frame bracket and the side pipe bracket.

I use three manifold gaskets to separate the flange from the frame. The dang flange gets hot and the rubber one I tried melted first time out.

You can make the gaskets by cutting three discs about 2" in diameter and drilling a hole through the center. Do this per side, 6 discs total. Paint them black or what ever.

Hope this helps.
