Steve,

There are a lot of good ones and mainly the price varies more than the quality. I got both of mine at NAPA about 6 years ago and have never had a problem with either. I believe back then I gave about $35 each for them.

Battery Tender by Delran. Have 3 for a bunch of years.

I have had a Sears brand for many years. I primarily used it on my boat to keep my deep cycle gel-cel batteries up for the bilge pumps. Those are pretty nasty conditions for any electronics and it lasted well.

After selling the boat, I kept the tender and use it in the spring to top off my Optima in the Cobra. It does a tiny trickle charge and has LEDs that go from red (charging) to green (ok to go). It plugs into an electrical connector that I have wired to the optima.

I think I paid perhaps 35 bucks for it back in 1989. It is still going strong. Sears probably still sells it today, in fact it is called the:

DieHard 1.5 amp Automatic Battery Charger
Sears item #02871220000 Mfr. model #71220

And appears to sell for about $29 or so.

Summit Racing Equipment sells Deltran Battery Tenders.

Deltran Battery Tender Junior - $39.95
Deltran Battery Tender Plus - $59.95
Deltran Battery Waterproof 800 - $49.95
Deltran Battery Power Tender - $ 119.95

You can match these prices at other sites, but I haven't seen any lower ones.
