How about it FFR guys? Is it possible to remove the tail shaft of a T5 trans with it IN the car? Need to replace the output shaft speedo gear, HATE to pull the whole trans.

The tailshaft is the mainshaft Ernie....you'll have to take the whole thing apart.....

...just the rear tail shaft cover, not the tail shaft itself. Need to replace the internal speedo gear. Piece of cake on a top loader, in an ERA, I did mine that way. Looks "possible" on a T5, but maybe not in an FFR. There isn't much room to work in that tunnel.
