Ford, but not a Cobra

Hoping that one of the Classic Mustang experts might be able to help. I dropped the automatic transmission pan on my 65 Mustang to replace the filter and gasket. When I pulled the filter a spring and cup fell out. are there any of these held in by the filter? i have attached a picture of the parts.

Thanks in advance for any help.

As long as you do not call me old guy!
I remember from the C-4 trans. The little cup goes down into the valve body,
the stud on the cup goes in to the spring, the metal screen
has a ear that sticks out and keeps pressure on the spring.
Later C4's had a pin to retain the cup and spring. Then you could change the screen without dropping the parts.
Back to the rockin chair. As soon as I park the snake!

Thanks Ed, My book doesn't mention it. I was afraid that I would have to pull apart the whole trans.
