Shelby alum rear housing

I was told that the shelby alum rear housing has a pourous casting and they are leaking fluid directly thru the alum casting. Does anyone here have 1st hand knowledge of this? What is a fix for this? Can I powder coat my new housing (inside)? I have a new rear housing and I would like to eliminate any problems before they develop. Thanks, Karl

Loctite has a sealant (089 Weld Sealant/Grade AA Green) made for such problems. There are also companies that have special equipment to seal castings. I would be reluctant to put any foreign substance that could chip off on the inside.

I've never heard of the castings being porous.
