I bought the following for $149 on sale and it folds up to almost nothing. If your like me, you'll be pulling the engine again in the future for upgrades, changes.

Jerry is correct. With my cherry picker, I have to come in from the side, the nose of the cobra is too long so, I built a "A" frame (something like the ends on a swing set) and added Dolly wheels. Works great and can be torn down for storing.

I wouldn't lift the engine by the ceiling, but the body isn't a problem.
I used a chain hoist connected to a screw-in hook in the ceiling of my garage to raise the body. Pete |
Priobe,
I just lifted my Shell Valley body this evening. I threw a 12ft 4X4 across the joists to spread the weight, bolted in 1/2" eyebolts and used the opposite on the body. Then I used a boat winch each for the front and back, mounted to my workbench. I was a little nervous as it went up the first time, but it seems perfectly solid and I added an extra safety chain to relieve the pressure on the winches over the winter. Hope this helps. Duff |
