Combo Rect. Rear Lights Stop & Signal?

Has anyone modified their rear rect lights so an extra bulb can be used for turn signals?

No, but likely a better solution is the LED right angle bulb thing that plugs into the existing socket. This provides a much brighter light with much less heat. Heat being a big issue, I've heard of paint/body damage from the heat of these things if for some reason the "bright" is left on (signal or brake stuck).

I would like to see info on the LED experiment. Search for someone else numbers, etc.

I thought I saw a post awhile back that showed a Superformance that had the dual bulb modification. I wonder if Superformance would sell these lights?

Rectangular lights with dual bulbs

I bought a set of tail-lights from a Superformance dealer and installed them in my ERA. I opened up the holes in the body, and the holes in the lamp retainer to maximize the lighted area. I rewired my car to separate the turn signal function from the stop/tail-light functions. I also used a Halogen bulb for the stop-light bulb to make it noticeably brighter. Here's a sketch showing before and after:

I modified my wiring so as to have emergency flashers, I also made an aluminum box, very similar to the one shown above, to cover the bulb and reflect the light outward, I drilled a hole in the top and bottom of the box to allow air to circulate, I am still using the single bulb set up
